Beginning classes are designed for anyone interested in the fundamentals of jewelry making who may never have touched a tool before or those who have some experience in jewelry making and wish to expand their skills. You will learn the basics in a fully equipped studio under the guidance of an experienced teacher.

In this six week course you will learn;

  • Basic techniques needed to fashion various types of jewelry including (but not limited to), rings, necklaces, bracelets, pendants, chains and more.
  • How to use basic jewelry making tools needed to fabricate commonly utilized materials such as metal, wood and plastic.
  • You will learn how to add texture to metal surfaces and different methods attaching the various pieces of metal together to form a finished piece of jewelry.
  • You will learn how to enhance your jewelry with gemstones or other objects or material with the pieces you make.

Each student works in an individual work station with its own set of tools with a full complement of additional metal working tools available to the group. You will have the ability to create jewelry using copper, brass, titanium, sterling silver* or any combination of these. There will be a large selection of gemstones available as well as other materials to incorporate in your jewelry.

* Most materials and gemstones are included in the course tuition with sterling silver available at an additional cost.

Registration is for six consecutive week day sessions as indicated and payable before the class begins. Missed classes are the responsibility of the student to arrange make-up time during the additional studio time mentioned above (Wednesdays – day or evening). There will be no partial refund for missed classes. Partial refund of $200 is available if cancelled up to one week before the beginning of class.

This class is taught by Robert Dancik, a renowned artist and teacher with more than 25 years of experience teaching jewelry making to people from 13 to 80 years of age.  You can see samples of Robert’s work here.
